About Riverview Homes
While teamwork is a watchword at Riverview Homes, Inc., there is one person who, more than any other, personifies Riverview's philosophy of unique quality creation. One person ultimately responsible for the one-of-a-kind designs, and the superior craftsmanship that bring them to life: founder and President Gary Wilkerson.
Wilkerson is the extension of a family tradition of Houston homebuilders dating back to 1947. Gary learned the subcontracting side of homebuilding from the ground up, working for subcontractors on his father's residential building sites. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 1973, he became a construction supervisor; then moved into subdivision management. He began specializing in custom building in 1985, successfully completing homes for the family business in Houston's prestigious areas of West University, Bellaire and Memorial; and later for the Chartwell Ltd. Division of Mastermark Homes in the Oyster Point section of First Colony, and Memorial.
Gary is currently a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, The Texas Association of Builders, is a member of the San Antonio Builders Association, and past president of the New Braunfels Home Builders Association. He is a recipient of the "Richard Humphries" award, bestowed annually by the Houston Sales and Marketing Council for outstanding contribution. In addition, three of his custom homes were runners up for the coveted PRISM awards for "Custom Home of the Year."
Now building at Canyon Lake since 1994, Wilkerson realized that a successful custom home is more than unique design, quality materials and craftsmanship. It is also the culmination of a mutually rewarding relationship between buyer and builder.
